Can being pals with the father of the Commissioner on Drugs and Narcotics be bad because I smoke pot?

No one seems to want to help me with this question so I simplified it... It's an on the level question. The father is calling me and I'm not answering. Should I be pals with him even though his son is high power drug/narcotics commissioner????? Please answer.
